4 Tips you can implement now to lose weight:

  1. Walk 10,000 steps daily. This is one of my favorite tips and something that I do every single day. We often think in order to lose weight we need to do some intense form of exercise and basically punish our bodies into losing fat and it just isn’t true. If you consistently walk at least 10,000 steps daily, you will notice your body slimming down within weeks. I still recommend incorporating other forms of exercise 4-6 times a week for 20-30 minutes, but you will be shocked at what just walking will do for your body. I have become such a fan of my daily walks that my day doesn’t feel complete without it. It’s a great way to relieve stress and get out in nature too.

  2. Drink plenty of water. Drinking plenty of water is so underrated yet it is so important for your health and to help manage your weight. Water helps to flush toxins out of your body so you’re able to eliminate them. It is also a good way to stop from snacking so much. Sometimes your body sends you cues that you’re hungry when it reality your body just needs water. A good rule of thumb to ensure you’re drinking enough water is to drink half your body weight in ounces on a daily basis. For example, if you weight 200 pounds you would want to be drinking at least 100 ounces of water daily.

  3. Fill your plate with nutrient dense foods. When I say nutrient dense foods I mean lots of leafy greens, vegetables, fresh fruit, healthy fats, high quality protein, and superfoods. When our bodies are getting the nutrients they need to thrive, we aren’t as hungry and we don’t crave less healthy foods as much. I also recommend taking a greens powder like THIS ONE to ensure you are getting plenty of nutrients. Another easy way to get lots of greens in your diet is to add lots of spinach to your smoothies or drink a green juice. Once you start adding in a lot of healthy, nutrient dense foods, you will naturally start to crowd out foods that don’t serve your body as much.

  4. Heal your gut. When our digestive system is inflamed or isn’t working properly, it can cause a lot of health issues in other parts of the body as well. We also won’t get the full benefit out of all the foods were eating if our digestive system isn’t working properly. When our digestive system is damaged we can have issues with bloating , indigestion, elimination, inflammation, leaky gut, acne, weight gain, anxiety, etc. I recommend taking a high quality probiotic and adding in fermented foods to repopulate the gut with good, healthy bacteria. I also recommend supplements like collagen, l-glutamine, slippery elm, marshmallow root, and licorice root to heal the lining of the digestive system.

If you start implementing these small changes and making them a habit in your everyday life, you will notice a big difference in how you look and feel. Remember that change takes time, but be patient with yourself and the process and show up consistently.

With love,

Ashley
