HTMA Testing
What is an HTMA Test? Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) is a functional test that uses a small amount of hair to assess your body’s mineral levels, heavy metals, and which systems in your body are stressed (adrenals, thyroid, digestion, liver, blood sugar regulation, overall metabolism, etc). An HTMA test shows the last 3 months of mineral levels in a person’s body whereas a blood test is a snapshot in time. Minerals are essential for balanced hormones, healthy digestion, healthy adrenal and thyroid function, energy, and a strong metabolism because they are needed for every enzyme reaction in the body. This test will provide me with vital information on your mineral levels that shows me where your imbalances are that contribute to poor digestion/gut health, thyroid and/or adrenal dysfunction, blood sugar regulation issues, weight gain, hormonal acne, fatigue, and a slow metabolism. Imbalanced or depleted minerals will cause symptoms in the body. The HTMA test allows me to see where your imbalances are so I can create a healing protocol based on what your body needs specifically.
Who is this for? This is for anyone who is experiencing symptoms such as hormonal imbalances, thyroid or adrenal issues, weight gain, hormonal acne, digestive problems, and/or unexplained symptoms. The HTMA is a non-invasive test which shows the “why” behind symptoms a person is experiencing. When our body doesn’t have minerals, we cannot properly create energy in the body. If we cannot create necessary energy, we will experience symptoms because our body will have a hard time carrying out functions such as hormone production and regulation, digestion, detoxification, repair, growth, conversion of the inactive thyroid hormone to the active form, etc. From here, hormones become imbalanced, thyroid issues occur, the metabolism slows down, digestion becomes impaired, energy goes down, heavy metals and toxins build up in the body. This creates unwanted symptoms that are hard to get rid of unless you approach them from a root cause perspective.
How it works: You will order the HTMA test using the link below. After you purchase, I will send the test kit to the address you provided (you can either put your address in the “notes” section at check out or email it to me at hello@ashleycarlsonco.com). You will collect a small sample of your hair (directions sent via email after purchasing) and send in to the lab to get tested. I provide a pre-addressed envelope to send the hair sample in. After you send your hair in and I receive your results back via email, I will reach out to have you fill out a health history form and will provide a video recording of your results and personalized healing protocol within 48 business hours.

What if I’ve already purchased an HTMA and just need the consultation to go over my results?
If you already have your results from an HTMA test and you would like your results interpreted with a protocol, send me an email at hello@ashleycarlsonco.com and we can discuss.
Can I do this test if I color or highlight my hair?
Yes. It’s best to test the hair at least 6 weeks after it’s been colored or on hair that hasn’t been colored. For example, if you only do a partial highlight, but don’t color underneath, then you can use the hair underneath and don’t have to wait the 6 weeks.
Do you take clients outside of the United States?

Do you offer refunds?
Due to industry standards I do not offer refunds for HTMA testing or 1:1 coaching. This is a commitment you make to yourself and your health.
